1984

I recently watched FarenHYPE 911, which although dated was very good.  My first time watching it.  I didn’t feel the need to watch a movie to tell me Michael Moore is an idiot and a liar, but it was on Netflix so I watched it.  It’s sad to reflect back on how we have changed, how facts have little to do with anything anymore.  Much like the O.J. Simpson trial, the gap between us is wide and impossible to cross.  Since that trial, that division has come to define where we are at today.

The left, which included Obama, attacked Bush on every angle.  I’m not looking to say that the attacks were correct or not, but I do find it interesting that the same people who were concerned about wars and Constitutional rights are strangely silent about Obama.  In fact, the only scrutiny he seems to get is outside of the mainstream media, and any scrutiny, any statement of concern, is attacked as racism or extremism.  If you were concerned then, how could you not be now?  Be it war, Constitutional rights and safeguards, the budget or the economy, Obama has dwarfed George W. Bush in a very short time.

Also, someone has to say it, Bush is gone people.  Obama had the House and the Senate, and while the House was lost, he still retains the Senate.  He had the power few presidents ever get, and yet all he has is blame, attacks, and excuses.  Would W have been able to get away with that?  In fact would any president at any point in our nation’s history?  Strange days indeed.

I’m going to forgo the links on the following, as I’m lazy tonight, but if so inclined, please look for yourself.

We have had the NDAA, and numerous executive orders that can suspend the Constitution, signed by Obama.  We are one event away from the death of the Republic.  The left would be screaming if Bush or Romney held such powers, especially if they showed Obama’s level of disdain for the rule of law and Constitutional protections.  The media would be watching like a hawk, reporting on every detail.  They’d even make up lies to rile the people, and justify it as a legitimate concern.

It is a legitimate concern, but no one is watching.  The most dangerous politicians are the ones no one watches and/or the ones who are blindly trusted.  In Obama’s case we have both.  The mainstream media has become an extension of the DNC, and they are neither watching or concerned.  You know, Tom and Katy are far more interesting.

9/11 ushered in a change in our rule of law and our liberties.  That has been expanded  under Obama.  Given the current situation, imagine a major attack against something like the London Olympics, one which made 9/11 look small.  A worse case scenario could be closer than we think.

Bush actively engaged Islamic terrorists, with our forces fighting them in the Middle East, our people torturing for information and acting on the information they gathered. This led to the death of Bin Ladin.  In contrast, Obama has largely disengaged from that pursuit.  To look at the Department of Justice, you’d think the Tea Party brought down the World Trade Center.  He has empowered the radical muslims in the Middle East while dropping protections on the border.  He has suspended deportations.

Exactly how far off do we think a major terrorist event is?  Our enemies remain determined to hit us, and we have done everything to aid them.  You would think they wanted another 9/11.  Our efforts to betray our allies and aid our enemies have not changed the latter’s feelings toward us.  It was Clinton’s eight years of ignoring the obvious threat that led to 9/11; how much greater the treat with Obama?  Carter left us a terrorist state in Iran, Obama has given Iran allies in Egypt and Libya.

One event…

One event, and the Republic is dead.

Impeach Obama!

Nixon was reelected in a landslide victory.  His second term ended in his resignation after the Watergate scandal, a scandal which seems minor compared to Fast and Furious.  Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson both faced impeachment proceedings yet neither have come anywhere close to the actions of President Obama.  A campaign has been started to Impeach Obama.

Here are five reasons why President Barack Obama should be impeached.

1) Despite promising otherwise, Barack Obama committed U.S. military resources to overthrow Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi without any kind of congressional authorization whatsoever and without citing any evidence that Libya under Gaddafi was a threat to the security of the United States. Furthermore, Obama brazenly undermined the power of Congress by insisting his authority came from the United Nations Security Council and that Congressional approval was not necessary. “I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question,” Obama churlishly remarked.

2) On New Years Eve 2011, Obama signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act which includes provisions that permit the abduction and military detention without trial of U.S. citizens. Despite Obama claiming he would not use the provisions to incarcerate U.S. citizens, it was his administration that specifically demanded these powers be included in the final NDAA bill.

3) The passage of the Obamacare bill, under which Americans will be forced to buy health insurance, is clearly anathema to the Constitution. “The individual mandate is unprecedented and exceeds Congress’s power to regulate interstate commerce. If it is allowed to stand, Congress will be able to impose any kind of economic mandate as part of any kind of national regulatory scheme,” writes Ilya Shapiro, a Senior Fellow in Constitutional Studies, Cato Institute.

4) Obama’s role in the economic looting of America since he took office is unprecedented. Specifically, Obama violated the Constitution’s Takings and Due Process Clauses when he bullied the secured creditors of automaker Chrysler into accepting 30 cents on the dollar while politically connected labor unions and preferential others received better deals.

5) Finally, Obama’s use of signing statements shows his desire to continue in the vein of George W. Bush and rule by executive fiat. This is a direct violation of Article II of the Constitution.

Fiddling While Rome Burns

Canada Pledges to Sell Oil to Asia After Obama Rejects Keystone Pipeline!  Once again our politicians are playing games with a much-needed resource and American jobs, and in a move that borders on criminal, both are pushed aside to China‘s benefit.  How does this benefit America on any level?  Is Republican Democrat posturing more important than the welfare of our nation?

We are in a recession still, although that term makes me wonder at what point do you call it a depression.  We have the worst economy since the Great Depression.  Rather than create American jobs and reduce our dependence on Arab oil, we are going to increase government spending by another trillion and increase government tyranny through NDAA, SOPA, and PIPA.  Who knows what other Orwellian measures they can dream up.  Meanwhile the American media is more concerned with which celebrity is in rehab or jail, and who is having sex with who.  It is disgraceful!!!

Please Act to Defend Your Rights

This is not a left or right issue, it is an issue of preserving the Constitution and ensuring that Americans retain their rights.  Please take a moment to go to this link and fill out the letter for your representatives to overturn the illegal and unconstitutional measures in the NDAA recently signed into law.  We were given a free Republic bought and paid for by those who stood up to ensure it for us.  Is their sacrifice not worthy of our diligence?  Please take a moment to do this for your nation.  That link again is HERE.

Here is a sample letter you can copy and sign…

I demand you repeal the detainee provisions of the 2011 National Defense Authorization Act. I am appalled that any member of Congress would support provisions such as…

* REQUIRED military detention of foreigners that are suspected of being terrorists
* Military detention as the preferred OPTION for American terror suspects
* No charges need to be filed, and no trials must be held
* Prisoners to be held “until the end of hostilities”

These provisions can be more accurately described as “kidnapping” — which is a crime whether it’s done by individuals, gangs, or bigger gangs called States.

And what does “the end of hostilities” mean? Indefinitely, probably for life. After all, when does “terrorism” end?

Terrorism is indeed a serious crime. But just as with any other crime, many persons “suspected” of it are not guilty. The American, Constitutional presumption is innocent until proven otherwise via due process of law. Terrorism is an especially tricky judicial matter, because mere acquaintances of real terrorists, or people caught in the “wrong place at the wrong time” could be rounded up.

These kidnapping provisions violate the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment. They also disregard my Fourth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendment rights. They even contravene Article III, Section 3, which deals with treason.

Not only is kidnapping unconstitutional, but these kidnapping powers attack the foundation of who we are as a people. The British ancestors of the Founding Fathers enjoyed protection against arbitrary executive power since the Magna Carta of 1215.

How can ANY of our rights and freedoms be secure if the President can, by whim, call me a “terrorist” and order troops to kidnap YOU because you are associated with me?

How can we enjoy the rights inherent in our humanity — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — if you or I can be “disappeared” in a federal gulag?

Two bills have been proposed that would restore SOME due process guarantees…

* HR 3676 would restore Constitutional protections for American citizens but denies them to foreigners — even legal residents. (http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-h3676/text)
* S.2003 restores due process to American citens and lawful alien residents, but seems to deny even citizens due process rights if apprehended on foreign soil. (http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-s2003/text)

Human rights belong to all of us, not just Americans or people living in the United States. Our rights are “pre-constitutional.” They are not derived from the whim of any government, but naturally endowed to individuals since creation. Moreover, our Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights protect “persons,” not just American citizens.

Please propose a bill to restore Pre-Constitutional rights and Constitutional due process guarantees to ALL terrorism SUSPECTS.
