Hollywood’s Chocolates

I’m sure most of you have seen the film “Forrest Gump” and remember the line where Forrest says “Life is like a box of chocolates.”  Now considering Forrest sat for a few hours on a Savannah bench under the hot Georgia sun puts a whole different perspective on that box of chocolates.

Tom Hanks is pretty big on selling false promises and lies.  The man has gone on to recently give us Hollywood propaganda full of great sounding dialogue that doesn’t deliver anything actually consumable.

“stupid is as stupid does”

Tom Hanks co-produced “Game Change”, the “documentary” on Sarah Palin, that was actually nothing more than a hit piece designed to further attack and tear down the reputation of Sarah Palin.  Propaganda designed to knock out the woman whom many believed would be the GOP front runner by this point.  The intent was to tear her down with exaggerations and outright lies.

Given the field of runners, she may well have been, but she didn’t run.  That didn’t stop further attacks against a Tina Fey character they label Sarah Palin.

No need for truth.  The ends justifies the means.  Hollywood must make it look the way they want it too.

Couple this with a slick 17 minute ad Tom Hanks made for Obama, a short called “The Road We’ve Travelled” glorifying Barack Obama with exaggerations and outright lies.  I suppose this is why he feels comfortable performing with a man dressed in blackface with a loincloth and an afro-wig.  So the difference between Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson is politics?

This film has been compared to the work of Leni Riefenstahl, who directed two documentaries for the Third Reich.  I’d say Hanks is closer to Goebbels than Riefenstahl, but let’s not strain on gnats.

Tom Hanks portrayed Capt. John H. Miller in Saving Private Ryan, a movie ofered to honor the sacrifice and courage of the generation that gave so much.  That generation stands worthy of such tribute, but that tribute is lost when Tom Hanks dishonors them and all Americans by offering vile propaganda.  Following the Michael Moore school of say anything to destroy your enemy he in fact tears down everything these brave Americans stood for, everything they bled for.

Playing an American hero is a far cry from being one.

Sure, America made propaganda movies too, but Hanks efforts fall far closer to the Nazi efforts than ours, and to make such movies about not your enemy, but Americans is something else entirely.

Große Lüge!  The expression was coined by Adolf Hitler, when he dictated his 1925 book Mein Kampf, about the use of a lie so “colossal” that no one would believe that someone “could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.”

Seems Hanks, Moore, and liberal Hollywood paid attention to this bit of “wisdom”.

Big lies indeed!

A box of chocolates?  No thanks!

The reality is something entirely different.

I’d say he was right. Life is like a box of chocolates, and Hollywood’s chocolates, well, that’s a big ol’ mess!

In the News…

Arizona strikes back: State investigates feds over gun-running  They absolutely should!  As should Texas and Mexico.  The Fast and Furious case added fuel to a fire that has resulted in thousands of deaths and subverted the security of the border and a neighboring nation.

And in related news, one Mexican state bordering the US was deadlier than all of Afghanistan last year.  It doesn’t take much to see that this is not good for the United States or Mexico.

Speaking of Fast and Furious, Uncle Ted Nugent had a thing or two to say about the subject.

It is already spreading here.  1.4 million gang members and more pour into the United States.  That is roughly the size of our joint active duty military, that is before Obama’s military cuts reduce that number by one third.

It is argued that Gay Marriage would not interfere with our First Amendment rights.  Guess again!  It will be really interesting to see where all of this leads.

I blogged about this, but it bears repeating.  As we are in dire need of jobs and oil, our politicians deny us both.  Obama’s Keystone Denial Prompts Canada to Look to China Sales.  We also dropped the ball on Brazil, as China gets jump on U.S. for Brazil’s oil.  It really makes me wonder what they are thinking.  The economy, our need for oil, and the instability in the Gulf all make Keystone the right thing for us to do.  If the Strait of Hormuz is closed down how high will fuel prices go?  Remember, it isn’t just fueling up that Prius, it is every item in your mall and local 7-11 that will cost far more.

They now know who all those body parts at the Hollywood sign belong to.  Just another day in paradise!

The battle over our freedoms continues, specifically with regard to the internet.  as SOPA and PIPA votes are to be delayed.  I hope it isn’t like Obama signing the NDAA.  Wait until everyone is hung over and busy with football to sneak the bill into law.  After all, no one is looking.

Well, that’s not exactly true, we are looking!

On a lighter note…
