Caring for the Poor and Middle Class

It amazes me that liberals stand by the argument that they are for the working class and the poor.  Seems to be that you aren’t helping the working class or the poor when you drive jobs away through high taxes and regulations, or when they keep stores like Walmart away, and place huge taxes on cigarettes and alcohol knowing full well the poor will still buy them.  How exactly does outlawing bags or “encouraging” people to buy new vehicles (keeping them in debt) help?  How does massive unchecked illegal immigration help?

How exactly do liberal policies help?

Every child should go to college?  Why?  So they can have the joy of working at McDonald’s with a mountain of debt they can neither repay or get out from under?  Are there that many jobs out there?  I realize they’re saving the word “depression” for a Republican President, but where are the jobs?  Forget the degree, just jobs?  Are they doing anyone any favors?

Somehow creating a mountain of debt by giving trillions of dollars away helps the poor and working class?  That money didn’t go to the poor and working class.  It didn’t create jobs.  It went to the same people the liberals shout that they are protecting us from, the banks, big business, and Wall Street.  No wonder Pelosi is winking at Occupy Wall Street.  The jokes on them!

Restricting the American farmer, taking away water rights and cutting off land use, thus contributing to higher food costs, somehow benefits Americans?  Somehow we have to have open borders to keep farm labor costs down, but the flip side to that is they do everything else to inflate prices then blame everyone else for the high prices.

Sitting on vast resources that we can’t touch, resources of oil and natural gas, inflating the cost of everything across the board, forcing people to choose between filling the tank or paying the mortgage, forcing parents out of the home for greater and greater periods and taking away the time that should be spent as family somehow benefits the people?

And the children, how do these policies help the children?  We all know the claim that liberals protect the children, but how exactly does bankrupting our children’s future while “radically transforming America” help the children?  Is that what they think they’re doing when they outlaw prayer from the public schools (unless it’s Muslim; we don’t want to offend)?

Are they teaching the children to think critically, to recognize the keys to success individually and collectively, to really understand how the world works, or are the teaching them that it is all owed to them?  The key to success as they teach it is not based on merit, but on the color of your skin, or at least the group you claim, just ask Ms. Warren.  Ask the entrance board for Annapolis or West Point.  Those who excel apart from the prescribed box are “evil”, unless it’s a Hollywood celebrity or some other train wreak that we’ve traded real heroes for.  That’s progressive!

Yes, the liberals are looking out for the poor and the middle class, but few of us can afford such love and devotion.

I know, how racist of me!

Some facts for the unconvinced…

January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took control of this nation…
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George W. Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH!!!
U.S. Deficit was $247.7 billion the lowest in four years.
And Bush was slammed for average gas prices of $2.29 a gallon for unleaded.

Who is helping the poor and middle class?

Another Triumph for Texas: Best/Worst States for Business 2012 | ChiefExecutive.net | Chief Executive Magazine

I often criticize the People’s Republic of California on the pages of this blog, but it is well deserved.  In this article listing best and worst states for business, California is 50th for their eighth consecutive year, and yes, Texas is again number 1!  God bless Texas!!!

Hmmm, extreme liberal = 50th

extreme conservative = 1st

Check it out…

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

Some recent stories for y’all…

Ted Nugent can’t play for the military, but a rapper named Common, who “metaphorically” called for the murder of George W. Bush (“burning Bush”) and celebrated a cop killer , was invited to the White House. Ok, that makes sense.  Of course liberals think Nugent should be in jail.  What, did I say liberals think?!  Liberals “feel”!

The Feds are cracking down and the heat is turning up!  I seriously wonder where this will all head.  I would not be surprised if we did end up in with states seceding, or even another Civil War.  Sheriff Tony DeMeo has a confrontation with BLM federal agents in his county.

Liberals like fire.  Steve Zwick thinks those who think man made global warming is a crock should have their houses burnt down.  We all know how the left likes to publish addresses, just ask Spike Lee.  On the heals of California’s Proposition 8, defining marriage as between a man and a woman, liberal supporters “Californians Against Hate” published blacklists of Prop 8 backers that included supporters’ names and addresses, because they’re not really against hate.

That period in California made it real clear what the left was about.  Who is against free speech?  Who is violent?  Who is full of hate?

Speaking of hate, here is yet another racist attack against a white that won’t be a hate crime.  Seems Alton Hayes III was so upset about Treyvon Martin that he and a friend had to jump a white man.  He robbed him too.  Bet if Obama had a son he would look a lot like Alton.  Maybe Treyvon would have robbed George too.  Treyvon wasn’t too afraid to give George a beat down.

Seems Obama’s Justice Department is referring reporters to the Ministry of Propaganda, aka Media Matters, to deflect Fast and Furious questions.  They really don’t want it known that weapons our Justice Department provided Mexican drug cartels ended up in American deaths.

Say what you want about Obama, but if the man is boo’d in Boston, where conservative is pretty much outlawed, he has a problem.  Yes, he does have the NDAA and the National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order, so opinions don’t really matter, but all the same it can’t feel good.

Most of you don’t care for the Occupy Wall Street, but others hold the Tea Party to distain, but it was American professors who went to Tehran for an OWS Conference!  Yes, Iran, where they hang gay teens and rape victims.  Stand by for the hanging of a Christian coming soon!  We all know the only terrorists are white Americans, right Janet Napolitano?  Oh wait, I bet those professors might be white!  Well, at least they aren’t conservative like crazy Ted Nugent.

Opinions are like….

Well, y’all know that one, but in line with the Arizona cyber bully bill, it is my humble opinion that kids should not be on the internet.  I’m not looking for a law to ban them, or to throw parents in jail because their kid has surfed the web, but there really is no reason for a kid to be on the internet.  There are issues, but rather than take the heavy hand of government and asking them to pull their guns, I’d rather see it discouraged by parents and teachers alike.

Yes, I know, our schools have pushed the internet on our kids, and expect them to consult the ‘net to do research for their papers.  Why they felt that the ‘net was a better source of information than the Encyclopedia Brittanica is beyond me.  The fact is people can post anything on the ‘net and kids are not likely to have the wherewithal to separate fact from fiction.  Sure, there is plenty of fiction in the textbooks, but it seems that there was tremendous value in those skills that they taught us.  To be able to go into a library and find the information you’re looking for is something I think everyone should know.  They might actually want to find facts someday, especially if Congress moves forward on control of the net.  If you have the want, you can find some great stuff in older books.

So our schools teach our kids to use the internet, which means that children are seeing sex acts that I never even conceived of even at the height of puberty.  This is a far cry from sneaking a peek at a Playboy behind the barn.  It is an unfortunate fact that porn is on the ‘net.  Even here, on this blog, my top search draw is Miranda Lambert Bikini (I don’t have that pic, sorry).  I have no wish to see it banned, but again, I’m not interested in taking six-year olds or sixteen-year olds to strip clubs.  The library likely has a copy of Canterbury Tales, but the sickness that has become readily accessible was quite removed from my youth.  That’s where it should be.

We use to play outside and use imagination to come up with games and things to do. We would stay out until our parents called us home, and only then would we go home.  Sitting in front of a computer or PS3 all day pollutes the mind and weakens the body.  They’re not getting educated, and they’re sure not learning social skills.  Kids use to talk, not text, and meet face to face, not on Facebook.  And what is Facebook really?  Sure it is nice to be able to connect with family and friends, but so much of it is fluff and needless drama.  Does a kid need that?

Our kids are at risk.  As our nation has declared mainstream religion evil, tossed out the Ten Commandments, the Golden Rule, Christmas, Easter, and God, all while cramming sexual deviance and homosexuality down our throats, our children are at greater risk.  I’m sorry, but my kids have no need to learn about homosexuality in kindergarten, no matter what the state of California says.  I fail to see where all this tearing down and exposing the most innocent of our society to evil while sheltering them from good has made us a better people.  The innocence of youth is a good thing, and we should not be throwing it away.  The chances that someone will be seeking out our children online to abuse or even kill is very high.

So why do we pursue this?  Why can’t we recognize that the internet is not the place for children?  It is not safe.  It is a good source of information if and only if you have the wisdom to discern.  In no way should it replace books or the ability to use the ol’ Dewey Decimal System to find a wealth of information that actually had to pass a publishers screening and willingness to be liable for its content.

Big Brother is big enough.  Leave the ‘net alone, and stop encouraging kids to play where they’re likely to get hurt.  There is no real benefit in encouraging children to be on the internet or shutting it down so they might be safe.

Just my opinion…

California! Liberal Paradise

California is the focus of a new Wall Street Journal article.  The article, California’s Greek Tragedy, is an absolute must read.  California is a liberal state, and it is reaping the fruit of its failed policies.  When you look at what California once was, and how prosperous it was, the impact is striking.  It demonstrates that what has happened in California could indeed happen nationally, especially as we pursue the same failed policies and ignore the will of the people as California has.

Speaking of California, I’m sure y’all have heard of ESL classes, but San Diego is going for Duel Immersion as a cost cutting measure by combining ESL and regular classes.  Oh sure, never mind that Californians have voted English only, who wouldn’t want their kid to learn Spanish?  But ask yourself this, if this becomes the standard, who gets the teaching jobs in California?  Who gets laid off because of the budget?  As we continue building a “bi-lingual” state, it is native-born English speakers who are sent to the back.  “Americans Need Not Apply!”

Ah poor bankrupt California.  All those six figure pensioners draining the state of cash!  I know, the golden days were suppose to last forever, but they did not.  California is losing their companies and their middle class who are fleeing in droves, and even the illegals have slowed their invasion.  No jobs!  Not that they replace what California lost with the middle class exodus.

This is the state that has Los Angeles and other cities impounding (rightfully) unlicensed drivers cars.  That is UNLESS they are illegal.  The police chief reasons that Americans can get licenses so they are still expected to uphold the law.  So two sets of laws with Americans having less rights than those who are criminals?  And yes, they are criminals.  All those illegal aliens cost L.A. county $1.6 billion a year.  That is a heck of a money pit there.  Consider the high cost of calling yourself a sanctuary city.

California will even pay for hormone therapy for transgendered illegals, all while screaming for more taxes.

Highest taxes in the nation!

They just keep taxing away all those jobs to states like Texas.  Matter of fact, here is a list of 100 companies leaving California.  That’s right, people are fleeing the liberal paradise by the thousands.  I think even ol’ Jed and Elly Mae have packed up and left.  Here are 19 reasons to leave California, a little old as the picture is even bleaker now, but I will list their reasons here.

Unemployment in California was 12.4% in September – one of the highest in the nation.  The unemployment rate is over 20% in eight California counties.  This is even higher when you consider the odd way California counts unemployed.

The Unemployed in California is equal to the populations of Nevada, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Not even state government jobs are safe in California these days. Last month, government agencies in California slashed a total of 37,300 jobs.

California has the third highest state income tax in the nation: a 9.55% tax bracket at $47,055 and a 10.55% bracket at $1,000,000.

California has the highest state sales tax rate in the nation by far at 8.25%. Indiana has the next highest at 7%.

Residents of California pay the highest gasoline taxes (over 67 cents per gallon) in the U.S.

Even with all of the taxes, the budget deficit for the California state government for the current year is approximately 19 billion dollars.

California’s unfunded pension liability is estimated to be somewhere between $120 billion and $500 billion.

Twenty percent of the residents of Los Angeles County are now receiving public aid.

Budget cuts are even jeopardizing public safety.

1 in 4 Californians under the age of 65 had absolutely no health insurance last year.

California’s poverty rate soared to 15.3 percent in 2009, which was the highest in 11 years.  Considering how poor you have to be to make that list the number is shocking.  The standard is $22,113 for a family of four.  Current rate is now 16.3%.  A two bedroom apartment in Los Angeles averages $1,689 a month.  That is $20,268 a year just for rent.

California’s overstretched health care system is also on the verge of collapse.

California home builders began construction on 1,811 homes during the month of August, which was down 77% from August 2006.

Earlier this year, in Sacramento, California there was one closed business for every six that were still open.

The “lawsuit climate” in California is ranked number 46 out of all 50 states.

Residents of California pay some of the highest electricity prices in the entire nation.

Over 20 percent of California homeowners are now underwater on their mortgages.

And no one can forget the Sacramento tent cities (they are in quite a few cities)

The “Terrible, Absolutely Terrible” Cuts California Must Make To Balance The Budget.

The only real question is, why haven’t I moved yet?

California Logic – Dangerous and Contagious

Los Angeles has imposed a$1,000 fine for throwing a football or a frisbee on the beaches of L.A. county.  Their reason being that such activity could potentially injure someone.  It is an issue of public safety.

Safety?  This from the place that wishes to make sure that illegal aliens caught driving without a license will not have their cars impounded.  An idea that is so brilliant that the state of California may ban impounding cars statewide for driving without a license.  As LAPD Chief Charlie Beck told the local newspaper that impounding vehicles presents an “unfair burden” and “disproportionate blow” for illegal aliens, who he refers to as a “valuable asset to our community.”  The chief says it’s a “fairness issue” because there is a “vast difference between someone driving without a license because they cannot legally be issued one and someone driving after having their license revoked.”  In other words, under the LAPD guidelines, citizens will have their vehicles impounded at their own expense, but illegal aliens will keep their illegally driven cars, thus illegal aliens are above the law.  And why not, San Francisco says it is ok for illegal aliens to drive without a license.  Problem is people die, like this four-year old in Santa Rosa.  So public safety clearly takes a back seat to illegal alien advocacy.

Don Rosenberg’s 25-year-old son was killed by an unlicensed illegal alien driver who had previously been stopped and let go in San Francisco.  This father will never again have his son or hear his voice.  His letter to Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa of Los Angeles is something that everyone should read.  Consider the stories of all the deaths listed here.

AAA has done several studies on the impact of unlicensed drivers and has some eye-opening statistics.  AAA says that, of the 40,000 fatal car crashes every year, one in five involves an unlicensed driver. The California Department of Motor Vehicles says that compared with licensed drivers, those driving without licenses are five times more likely to be involved in a fatal car accident ,five times more likely to drive drunk and over four times more likely to flee.

The danger is obvious.  We require people to take a test because a vehicle is something that can result is multiple deaths.  It is a privilege, not a right.  If someone is hindered because they engaged in illegal acts we should not revoke laws to allow them to place the public at greater risk.

Politics has become more important than public safety.

I tried to find statistics on deaths by frisbees or footballs but I could find none.  $1,000 fine for throwing a football, but unlicensed illegal alien drivers are perfectly fine.

After all, they played the race card.
