We sold out our inheritance from the Greatest Generation, and will bankrupt our grandkids on the way out! Not a problem to send others to fight in stupid wars because it ain’t our asses on the line now. We are the Establishment! The power is OURS!”
The largest generation, the one’s that set out to tear down everything handed to them by the blood sweat and tears of the Greatest Generation, the ones who came of age name calling and screaming to be left alone are now the ones in charge. The liberals of that generation gave us Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Kerry, Jerry Brown, Bill Ayers, wackos like Jane Fonda and Roseanne Barr, and yes, Barack Obama is their love child.
Funny how time has turned them into the fascists they accused “The Man” of being. Funny how they grew to be champions of Statism, of elitism, of conformity. Fascists in tie-dye are no less scary. They inherited the richest nation on earth, they made themselves fat by selling off their inheritance, (our inheritance) and now, in the midst of their economic disaster, they are stealing from their kids, their grandkids, and beyond. They had the numbers, and they took over, and everywhere they did is now a shadow of it’s former self. They flee those bankrupt cesspools with inflated pensions and run off to conservative states to tell them how to live. Stay in the cesspools you created. Enjoy the fruits of your handy work.
They fought, and continue to fight to tear everything down, but the fact is they offer nothing of substance, no real replacement. Smoke and mirrors, false promises, and lies. Sure, they had a good soundtrack, but they charged one hell of a royalty on it. They came in with no sense of gratitude for what was given to them, and they’ll leave with no sense of obligation toward those they leave behind. In their minds, they were owed it. They created it. Their actions were right, and they will force the changes they desire, right or wrong. Thanks Meathead!

Older liberals really upset me because they, unlike the brainwashed youth, have the time and wisdom to research their own convictions. They don’t so like your post shows, they evolve into the very thing they detested as a youth.
Detest those in power now. Most just lived their lives and raised their familes. Trusted their government and are now paying the toll of indifference now. I’m pre-boomer and still working, most not so lucky. I see everyday more in need than those who made it to power elite. Sure, lots didn’t plan, “but you didn’t build that” attitude prevails. And chance to build that shrinks for our youth day by day.
Being pre-boomer as I said. Most boomers didn’t participate in that hippie crap. Those crappers in charge now including the administration, lots of congress, and President did in at least a Choom gang. Dad was in mid 30’s at this pre-boomers birth…asked draft board chances of going to war…was told according to Dad years later…” Coop, something big is planned…if it doesn’t work…if you can walk you will fight.” That was D- Day. Wikipedia calls them in Dad’s age…”the Silent Generation”, work hard and be quiet. Now it is the “Shut up, you didn’t built that” generation.
Walk now, expect will need to be swinging, left,right, upper cut, down and out, Nov. 6..
Of course…Dad was “the Greatest Generation” but it does overlap, like me pre-boomer and still working.
I agree, and I wasn’t talking about all boomers, but rather the hippies that became the DNC, people like those cited and others. 1968 was a radical shift in the DNC, which led us here. There was/is support for the Dems among many because of the legacy of JFK on that generation, but JFKs Dems are long gone, and the reality of JFK long since lost to the myth of Camelot. That myth led to people like Pelosi being empowered to create a self destructive agenda that sold out the inheritance and bankrupt future generations. The hypocrisy is extreme.
Depression/WW2 was the Great Generation. Their sacrifice created a Golden Age, their legacy and lessons assured our future. It was sold out and torn down by the radical left. They deserved better and so do all of us. America could always use some fine tuning, but where it went is nuts. The America of Eisenhower is gone, 60 years of transforming that America into this. I fail to see the benefit.
Nuts is right. Can not add anymore to your commentary. Right on. Think “let’s turn it around and go 180 degrees in the other direction” is the slogan. We might have to build that ourselves.

I am of the 1968 generation and although establishment supporting and respectful thereof was really against Vietnam war and other policies antithetical to America’s nature and purpose. We wanted change too but not like the lefty stuff. Nothing has happened. To where have the years and 30 million of us gone ?
Some remember and maintain a healthy distrust of govt, but a lot don’t. I suppose in some ways it is like The Big Chill but the switch makes little sense to me. There were Marxist Leftist influences at the time, but in many ways the core of it was very Libertarian.
